Battle of Harlaw, 600th Anniversary 24th July 2011

Aberdeen Art Gallery: Wargaming the Harlaw battle

We had an excellent turnout from members of the public and the Art Gallery staff were great help. The game went well, and the Lord of the Isles managed to drive Mar from the table, winning on two of three main battles, however casualties were horrendous and the advantage was unable to be pressed.

Harlaw display at Aberdeen Art Gallery

The day finally arrived, and we saw the terrain in-situ at Aberdeen Art Gallery. Figures were set out and journalists arrived to speak to Andy Douglas about his 2 year research/model project. We counted 750 models in 28mm scale, with almost all by local company, Scheltrum Miniatures and painted by 11 of the club members.
