Harlaw display at Aberdeen Art Gallery

The day finally arrived, and we saw the terrain in-situ at Aberdeen Art Gallery. Figures were set out and journalists arrived to speak to Andy Douglas about his 2 year research/model project. We counted 750 models in 28mm scale, with almost all by local company, Scheltrum Miniatures and painted by 11 of the club members.

Background photos of the boards being made and figures being painted can be seen at the project page. There is an article in today’s “Evening Express” (display is running from today until 31st July). The “Press and Journal“, “STV” and City Council were talking to Andy and snapping shots of his terrain and picking his brain about the battle.

Update from Pages 12/13 of “Evening Express” 21/7/11:  the city council’s art gallery and museums manager Christine Rew said “the model which the club has created is superb and shows the battlefield in amazing detail. It’s a great tribute to the skills of the Aberdeen Wargames Club’s members.”
